Torriani Hotels located in the centre of Milan, are happy to suggest you “Dante’s Hell” exhibition which presents splendid works of art of Salvador Dalì and Robert Rauschenberg.
The exhibition will take place from April 7th to July 17th 2011 in the seat of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation in Milan in Andrea Solari street N. 35. The exhibition includes 34 color xylographs realized in 1960 by the Master Dalì with as theme Dante’s Hell.
The representation of Hell is characterized by irreverent, ironical and grotesque representations which have also a great evocative power. Besides the works of art of the Spanish surrealist master, 34 serigraphs of Hell realized by Robert Rauschenberg, one of the most important US modern art painter, are also exhibited. The American artist realized his works of art with images transferred from reviews or newspapers and in every painting there are forms, objects and stimuli from today’s life, transferring this way Dante’s Hell into a modern context.
